PaaniBAAWNI is a youth movement for water-positive and nature-positive action. Created by the Water Bank Foundation Trust, the movement uses music, collective expression and practical action to help young people develop an enduring ecological ethos.
Climate change is not only a scientific or environmental challenge. It is a challenge of values, behaviour, and choices.
Young people will inherit the consequences of today's decisions—and will shape the way India manages its water, land, forests, and natural ecosystems in the decades ahead. We believe that climate resilience must become part of the culture, musical rhythm, and imagination of the youth.
A song introduces an emotional conversation and becomes a shared experience.
Classrooms recite collectively, building group conviction and awareness.
Awareness connects with hydrological science, local rivers, and watersheds.
Students step into ground-level water audits, rainwater harvesting, and eco-restoration.
Verified action turns into habit and inspires a continuous national youth loop.
Watch and listen to PaaniBAAWNI – Anthem for Climate Resilience. Let the melody and lyrics introduce an engaging dialogue about water, nature, and India's ecological destiny.
Schools and colleges bring students together in classrooms, auditoriums, or campuses. No stage or special equipment required. A smart board or screen is enough.
Capture your students' collective performance. Share your recording to be featured in the growing national mosaic of youth voices for water and climate resilience.
The anthem is only the beginning. Don't just talk about the environment—do something for it. Take measurable action in your campus and community.
Empower your teachers, campus leaders, and youth clubs with everything needed to host a transformative 30-minute PaaniBAAWNI session.
The Rainbow Credits programme recognises youth participation in measurable water-positive and nature-positive activities. Don't reward promises. Reward action, survival, and stewardship.
Complete classroom karaoke recitation and performance submission.
Map inflows, taps, storage tanks, and daily water consumption patterns.
Audit and repair dripping taps, plumbing leaks, and pipeline fractures.
Implement or revive roof catchment filters and recharge soak pits.
De-silt, clean, or protect a neglected neighborhood pond, baoli, or canal.
Plant native flora, pollinator species, and soil-moisture retaining plants.
Long-term student stewardship of village, municipal, or campus waterbody.
Document sustained survival and maintenance of nature interventions.
You don't need to be a climate scientist to participate. You simply need to begin with your classroom, your campus, and your neighborhood.
“You are not too young to make a difference to the place where you live. Start with your classroom. Start with your campus. Start with your neighbourhood.”
Any school, college, or university across India can participate. The entire experience requires just 30–45 minutes and zero specialized infrastructure.
What You Need: Classroom/auditorium, smart board or projector, participating students, and our digital kit.
Institutional Badging: Progress from PaaniBAAWNI School → Water-Aware School → Water-Positive Campus → Climate Resilience Campus.

Hydrologists, environmental engineers, GIS researchers, and sustainability practitioners: bridge the gap between classroom wonder and real-world water engineering.
Mentorship: Guide student campus audits and evidence-based rainwater harvesting.
Guest Recitation Sessions: Share practical insights into groundwater tables and arsenic issues.
Verification: Help inspect and certify high-impact student projects for Rainbow Credits.
“Create a direct bridge between young people learning about water and young professionals dedicating their lives to solving water challenges.”
Imagine thousands of classrooms across India. Students in Patna, Lucknow, Jaipur, Delhi, Ranchi, Bhopal, Varanasi, in villages, towns, and cities. Different languages, different uniforms, different cultures — but one shared concern: WATER, and one collective aspiration: A RESILIENT FUTURE.
