BarterWATER Global Launch at UN2023Water Conference
New York, USA: March 24, 2023 – The Water Bank Foundation (WBF) Trust underlined its intentions for sustainable developement has globally launched sustainable-technology enabled mission ‘BarterWATER for sustainability’ at UN 2023 Water Conference.
Vision alligned with UN’s decade for action agenda (2018-28), ‘Water for Sustainable Developement’, BarterWATER mission aims to firstly provide the safe drinking water to the community, and then to engage them into SDG-Action in lieu of Water Credits in BarterExchange for prevailing a nature-centric circular economy for sustainble way to the future.

At the live event, Rajat Gupta, Chairman of WHEELS Global Foundation and Ruyintan (Ron) Mehta, President of WIN Foundation, signed an MOU with VAS Bros. Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., (Organic Aqua Solutions) in an effort to pilot a sustainable model for Arsenic-mitigation, in one panchayat (a cluster of Arsenic-poisoned villages) in Bihar.
Founded by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) alumni, WGF focuses on their six pillars; water, health, education, energy, livelihood, and sustainability while WIN Foundation supports and facilitates innovation in the areas of Water and Sanitation (WatSan) and Maternal and Child Health (MCH) in India.
BarterWATER Pilot at Dumaria Panchayat
Situated at the ganges, Ara district is one of the worst affected with Arsenic positiong in the water. Dumaria Panchayat at Sahpur block at Ara district is selected as the habitat to implement the pilot of this UN Agreement. Constitueted with 17 wards, Dumaria panchayat is a habitat of approximately 4000 households, who are going to be the direct beneficiary of this project. Behaviour change is one of the key matrix for the impact assesment.
